A member of the Knifemakers' Guild Of Southern Africa since July 2002.
'Originally born in Bregenz, Austria, Gunther immigrated to South Africa, with his parents, at a young age, majored in woodwork and technical drawing and then continued at University of Port Elizabeth, received an honours in Bachelor of Science, Quantity Surveying, becoming a professional, in private practice as a construction cost consultant/analyst.

He was constantly exposed to both woodwork and metalwork in his dad's workshop, building him a custom hunting/camp knife, and since that time Gunther was hooked on the idea of designing and building his own custom knives.

His passion and focus has always been fixed blade knives, and after he was introduced to the late Rob Brown, a world class knife maker, who mentored and guided him to joined the Knifemakers' Guild of Southern Africa in July 2002.
