A member of the Knifemakers' Guild of Southern Africa.

Peet is originally from Springs, a highly qualified technician, who originally started out as a part time knifemaker and then became a member of the Knifemaker's Guild of Southern Africa in 1993. Peet has attained many awards for Fixed Blades at the Guild Shows and is internationally recognised. Each knife is individually crafted from start to finish by hand in his traditional workshop, from using his original Rietveldt belt grinder to his own heat treatment and temper oven, every knife is one-of-a-kind.

Peet enjoys making art fixed blade knives, uses a vacuum process to stabilize his handle materials, sourcing woods from various countries, but prefers using indigenous S.A. woods. Engraving and scrimshaw work is done by different artists but always handcrafts his own leather work. Peet has cultivated many interesting hobbies besides knifemaking, they include fly fishing, traditional archery, cultivating exotic palm trees and cycads, collecting old hand planes and Bonsai trees.
